Reviews for 丰泽门 Charlie Men’s Kitchen
Review highlights
Based on 158 reviews丰泽门 Charlie Men’s Kitchen is widely praised for its authentic and exceptional Peking duck, often described as unrivaled on the Queensland coast and comparable to those found in Beijing. The restaurant attracts a diverse clientele, from locals to tourists and families, emphasizing the importance of reservations and preordering the signature duck due to high demand. Customers appreciate the freshness and quality of other dishes, including standout items like duck soup and fried fish. The intimate staff size and attentive service contribute to a warm, homely dining experience, although this can result in a slower pace. Overall, the establishment is recognized for its consistency, authenticity, and dedication to maintaining high culinary standards.
Wow. What a lucky duck we are to have found this place.Clientele is a mix of happy diners. From local regulars to tourist, young families to mature groups out for a good meal. Many reviews have mentioned that you must have the Peking duck. 2 course for 72. So make a reservation because walk in is almost impossible and the duck itself needs to be preordered to cater for a delicious meal. The roast duck was fabulous. I have tried quite a few from Four Seasons in London to Forbidden Duck in Singapore. This could top them all. Skin is crispy. Meat is moist. Delicate balance of flavours. It was truly masterfully created. It isn’t a dish for everyone. But the pork intestines was also very very good. Crispy and also flavoursome. The output of this kitchen is pure class.Service. Not every Chinese restaurant is good on service. But Charlie Men’s kitchen is lively and friendly. A neighbourhood gem and I hope does not change because I want to have the same experience next time I come back. What a meal!Parking is plentiful.By the way, the left over duck the day after still tasted great!
Its best duck Restaurant on the Coast me and my husband went to Beijing had a duck there few times, This Beijing Duck is not much different than the way in Beijing. The owner Charlie is such a nice guy, he gave us a free birthday ice cream cake. We will go back for sureHighly recommend to everyone
The Peking Duck is the best we eaten in my life. This is my first visit and I still crave the excellent spread! The crispy and fragrant duck was money well spent! The other food, well marinated and fresh, was a fantastic spread too. The service was homely though reservation must be made as they do not accept walk-ins.
This is the best northern China roast duck I've ever had in Queensland.Be sure to book in advance! ! ! ! !There are not many employees in this restaurant, only 1 chef and 3 waiters. This is because the chef does not trust other chefs, resulting in a decline in the quality of the dishes. In order to ensure the quality of the dishes, the chef made the serving speed a little slow. The chef is very friendly, after talking to know that he used to be a very well-known chef in the Chinese restaurant industry.
We traveled here and had SUPERB roast Beijing Duck, and duck soup is a must try, easily hands down the best Beijing Roast Duck cuisine in Australia. There was once an equivalent in Sydney but now Chef Men’s Duck definitely ranks the 1st not gonna lie. We only ordered a few other dishes today and all were amazing, the fried fish is finger licking and the jellyfish cold dish brought me back 20 years ago, authentic and savory. All dishes are cooked, in my opinion, 1980s old school Beijing/Northern China style. The restaurant is decorated with fresh flowers and you can see the chef and the female boss really cherished their restaurant, and this is so valuable in these days Chinese restaurants in Australia. Such a gem! I wish their business wealthy and prosperous in Loong Year.
Peking duck is pretty good, and I didn’t expected that large intestine is incredibly fabulous. The boss is the cook, and very nice. Every dish I will recommend to my friends and I will taste more dishes next time!
Best of the best! Please do yourself a favour and visit this lovely family business that only brings perfection to your table. Every dish is so well made and tastes authentic. This is the best Chinese restaurant on the coast in my opinion.PS. Reviewed by a seasoned roast duck lover.
Very tasty food and excellent services! I forgot my son’s spoon there and my son only eats with that spoon. They sent that spoon via express mail to me without any hesitate. I really appreciate the services they provided. I definitely will visit again when we travel to Gold Coast next time!
